block of little street last week. police say men stole more than 500 tons of metal that is used to make stainless steel. police say they have apprehended the first suspect within minutes of arriving at the shopping center on wnds. the other suspect fled the scene but was picked up yesterday. and the search is over for a man who escaped police custody with his pregnant girlfriend. they were arrested without incident by u.s. marshals wednesday in washington state. baltimore police say palmer, a suspect charged in an august stabbing, made up a medical injury to break free from hand restraints last friday. the girlfriend faces charges of harboring a fugitive. >> cold front starting to make a way through our area as we had all the clouds yesterday and the showers, so pretty significant. right now, a few clouds trying to develop but more sun than clouds out there for sure. looks like we have a pleasant afternoon. the winds are out of the northwest and will be picking up as the afternoon progresses as well. for some reason our temperature map is off. looks like mid 70's across most of the

area, probably more with a 40-to-50-mile-per-hour winds and rain. officials tell us that while they are taking precautions, they're not going overboard. o'malley, 48 hours before -- normally, 48 hours before the estimates, there would be securing rights, but there are no plans to shut them down and secure them. we're also told the folks should not evacuate. stay put. that is another good sign that it should not be too bad for folks in ocean city. for folks who are putting down here for the labor day holiday, don't change your plans. >> it should be out of here by late friday afternoon. i will encourage everybody to monitor the storm, watch local tv and radio stations, and make a decision. i don't think there will be any problems traveling. >> the mayor says the probably the biggest concern they have right now heading into thursday will be folks swimming in the ocean, because there will be keeping a close eye on what is going on out there and will have to keep swimmers out of the water for a certain period of time. that is looking like more and more that will definitely be a possibility.

' early on. things have dried out now for us in baltimore. we still have higher than normal waves. a coastal flood advisory is in effect until 9:00 tonight. we are going to be improving as the afternoon progresses. we will be clearing throughout the afternoon. winds will be variable. it is still very mild out there, a 76-81 degrees. by the afternoon, waves could be churning up to 3 feet. 74 is the normal high for today. we are a little off the mark as far as that goes. it is still very mild. 91 degrees is the record set back in 1981. tonight's forecast gives us partly cloudy skies. things are getting quieter overnight and into the day tomorrow. it will be much cooler as far as temperatures go with light northwest winds. areas of low pressure are the impetus for all of this energy. there is a tornado watch from pennsylvania to new york. we are just below that strong a line of storms that came through that area earlier on. we have another system that is originating in the tropics. that is going to cause us problems later on in the week. this is a tropical depression no. 16. fors moving
